I'm Growing!

I am simply amazed by how fast our little squirt has grown. Wasn't it just the other day that she was a tiny little baby? Now she is cruising around, tall enough to hit her head on the underside of the table.  And as you can see by the picture, at just 27.5" she's a Jayhawks fan already!

I haven't posted any of her growth stats yet, so I thought I would go ahead and do that before she gets any bigger!

Her last well child visit was at the beginning of December, for her 9 month check-up. She continued on her tall and thin trend, and is putting on weight at a good steady pace!

It looks like she was a little hard to measure in those first wiggly weeks :-). These records are from the pediatrician's office. According to the hospital records she was 19.5" at birth, and I doubt her head shrank between 2 weeks and 6 weeks, but nonetheless this gives a pretty clear picture of her growth.

Christmas!!!

Attia's first Christmas was wonderful. We stayed home to celebrate this year, and we had a very nice, relaxing, and magical Christmas with our little family.

On Christmas Eve, Austin's parents came over in the afternoon to celebrate with us. We thought the tree was looking full with presents, but when Gram and Grump arrived the room was suddenly filled with gifts several times the size of Attia! She thought they were great to explore, and she went straight for the ribbons!

She helped to tear open the paper a little, but she was really more interested in what was inside once someone else got it unwrapped.  :-)

Of course she had to try out her new toys. She really liked riding on her new singing/rocking pony!

After exchanging gifts we enjoyed Gram's delicious cheesecake, and visited while Attia played with her toys. In the evening Gram and Grump went to take part in more Christmas activities with their other grandchild in Lawrence, Jack!

We spent the evening munching on caramel popcorn and Christmas cookies, and before bed Attia and I visited with the Christmas Elf.

We told him goodbye and wished him well on his return trip to the North Pole, and we also asked him to tell Santa that Attia had been a very good girl.

Attia first met the Christmas Elf on December 1st, and although she was not very aware of him this year, he has been watching her behavior all month in order to report back to Santa.

On Christmas morning it was evident that Santa had visited and Attia had indeed been a very good girl. But before opening presents Attia wanted to go for a pony ride.

Then she got into it and had a LOT of fun opening and playing with everything!

A block!!!

Even the pets got presents and Attia enjoyed helping Jack play with his.

All in all it was a great first Christmas together as a family. Now time to start counting down the days until next year!

Attia's Nine Month Photo Shoot

So, I'm a little behind on posting. But that can be expected with the holidays, right? We did Attia's nine month photo shoot at the beginning of December, so of course it had to be Christmas themed. It was the perfect opportunity to get some festive images for our holiday cards!
