Attia's Fifth Month

     July was a hot one this year, but when we were able to stand the heat we managed to have some fun. The month started off with the Tour of Lawrence - three days of bike races over Fourth of July weekend! The tour included Friday night street sprints, a campus race on Saturday and a downtown criterium on Sunday. Austin (#104) raced in all three events and Attia, Gram, Grump and I went downtown to watch on Sunday. (It was just too hot/late for Attia the other days). The ToL is always a lot of fun to watch!

Later that week we celebrated Austin's 28th Birthday!

And still later that week we had a visit from uncle Drew! He was on his way back to Colorado (his new home) and stopped by to visit for a couple of days on his way through. 

 Then at the end of the month Opa, GiGi & Nellie (their new dog) stopped by on their way out to Colorado.

In between all of the excitement we had some good times at home and around town. Attia even went swimming for the first time! We went to the local indoor pool with my friend Carrie and her baby, Madilyn. Madilyn loved it but Attia was a little less sure. :-)

Attia's Fourth Month

3 Months Old!

     As June rolled around things slowed down a little, which was nice. Unfortunately, it also marked the end of my maternity leave. As the end drew closer I dreaded it more, and squeezed in as many walks as we could while we still had every day together. Austin was finished working at Central Junior High for the school year and was starting his summer job, so in the second week of June we started our summer schedule. Austin would watch Attia on Tuesdays and Thursdays while I was at work in Kansas City, and I would take care of her on MWF while I worked from home. It was a little weird going back to the office after several months, but our schedule worked out well and I was super happy to still get to be with Attia most days!

     The biggest highlights of the month were Austin's first Father's Day and Amma's 80th Birthday (Austin's Grandma, Attia's Great-Grandma). The Lawrence Elsers got together with Marsha, Terry & Amma at Gram & Grumps house for Amma's birthday celebration. Attia loved seeing her cousin Jack there!

Attia's Third Month

2 Months Old!

     By the third month we couldn't believe how much our baby had changed. She had gone from a sweet, helpless infant to a cute, round-faced little baby. And she was getting to be so much more fun too! She still wasn't letting us get much sleep, but she was making up for it with all of her smiles, coos, and footsie games.

     May was a very busy month at our house, and Attia got to have many adventures. We started off the month with our three year anniversary and a nice picnic at South Park. The next weekend we headed to Arkansas for the Joe Martin Stage Race and Attia got to go on her first road trip! She was cool with it and slept most of the trip. Then we wrapped the weekend up with my first Mother's Day :-).

     In the middle of the month my mom and Dennis came up. We were happy to see them and we were very excited that Dennis was recovering well and was able to make the trip!

     We closed out the month up with our first garage sale over Memorial Weekend. Austin's mom came up to help get things marked and set up, and the sale was a success! So nice to see so many things go!
